He gave us a tour of the city on our way to the sanctuary. It started with a pickup at our hotel by an amazing driver who was friendly and English speaking. You are as up close and personal as you want to be. Our experience was 10,200 rupees which was worth EVERY PENNY. You must first email them to then have them reply and set up the encounter. I found it confusing to book as they don’t have a direct link on their website to purchase the experience. I read the bad reviews where people said the phone calls were rude, but I don’t think they understand the Indian culture of being short and to the point, also English is the second language for the owners, so cut them some slack. I booked the experience last minute on a Sunday for a Monday. Elephantastic was the most humane one I found. I researched elephant sanctuaries in Jaipur and also researched elephant experiences out of curiosity. I completely agree with that, but do realize the elephant in India is tradition and I respect that this is their way of life. It’s easy to get angry and not want to support the industry. While visiting India I witnessed many working elephants/animals in general in the street which broke my heart. Let me state that I am an animal lover/activist and very aware of animal exploitation. It is heartening to see such a set up in India hopefully it brings together those with similar interests and furthers this hobby. There are several activities you can do apart from the scale models: board games, garden games such as badminton, so kids and adults alike can thoroughly enjoy themselves. The hosts are very warm and enjoy talking about how they came up with this idea and the thought behind each scale model set up. It is clear that this place has been built through terrific and sincere passion and it is done with immense attention-to-detail, to ensure you can enjoy it whether as an amateur or as someone who is interested in this hobby. You get to operate the trains and boats yourself, along with several other activities, such as cars in a model town, circus set up and so on. Complete with rail sounds, lights and things such as railway crossings, railways stations and so on, everything seems very real.Įverything seems even more magical in the late evening once the dusk lighting is turned on, there are very detailed lighting in each attraction, making it even more life-like. The scaled models of houses, roads, trains and the landscape are very accurate and mimic how they would be in real life. This place has a scaled set up of elaborate rail networks, going through towns, bridges and popular sites. A delightful, first-of-its-kind experience with a miniature garden in India.
